A Review of Journals on the Problem of the Hemiplegic Upper Extremity

Abstract
Problems of hemiplegic upper extremity after stroke can have an adverse impact on rehabilitation outcomes. This article aims to review the literature on problems of hemiplegic upper extremity and review korean oriental medicine journals. English language articles in PubMed database between 1999 and 2002 August were reviewed. Korean language articles include the journals of Korean Acupuncture & Moxabation Society, Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine and Korean Oriental Medicine. We classified 56 articles by criterion of Evidence-Based Medicine(EBM). This result of research demonstrate that the most effective therpy is to prevent the hemiplegic shoulder pain by applied management programme. Futhermore, we conclude that therapic managements of oriental medicine can be effective application and these therapy is required to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.
